Appraisal clause
Alaska standard auto policies include the binding appraisal clause; demands must be in writing.
Sales tax & fees
Alaska has no state sales tax, but title transfer and registration fees must be included in the settlement.
Salvage & title rules
Alaska uses a total-loss formula: when repair cost plus salvage value meets or exceeds ACV, the vehicle is totaled.
Diminished value
Diminished-value claim availability depends on policy form and case law.
How we help in Alaska
We pull genuine Alaska comparables within the local market, document trim and option packages, apply Alaska-specific tax and fee rules, and rebut every condition adjustment line by line.
Recent Alaska case result
De-identified outcome from a Alaska appraisal we handled. Settlement ranges reflect actual recoveries.
A Anchorage driver's 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range was declared a total loss after a multi-vehicle collision. The carrier's CCC ONE valuation came in at $28,900, with three "fair" condition adjustments and two comps pulled from outside the Alaska market. Our appraiser rebuilt the comp set using genuine Alaska dealer inventory, corrected trim and option coding, and removed the unsupported condition deductions. Final settlement after appraisal: $34,200 — a +$5,300 increase, plus Alaska sales tax and title fees paid on top.
