About Auto ACV
Auto ACV is an independent vehicle-valuation service for drivers whose car has been declared a total loss. We do not work for insurance carriers, and we do not accept assignments from them.
What we do
We review the insurer’s written valuation report, identify comparable-sale and vehicle-condition errors, and prepare a rebuttal or appraisal-clause package the vehicle owner can submit. We do not adjust claims, provide legal advice, or issue coverage decisions. Each engagement is a fee-for-service appraisal review; we describe the scope, deliverables, and price in writing before any work begins.
How we build a valuation
- Read the insurer’s valuation report (typically CCC ONE, Mitchell WorkCenter, or Audatex Autosource) line by line and verify the vehicle’s year, make, model, trim, drivetrain, factory options, mileage, and pre-loss condition against the title, window sticker, and service records.
- Rebuild the local comparable set from active dealer listings and recent private-party sales within the vehicle owner’s metropolitan area, matching trim, drivetrain, mileage band, and material options.
- Document any errors — missed options, incorrect condition adjustments, out-of-market comparables, wrong body style — with citations back to the source listings.
- Deliver a written report the vehicle owner can send to the carrier as a rebuttal or attach to a written demand for appraisal under the policy’s Appraisal Condition.
Editorial and citation standards
- Legal statements on state hubs cite the primary statute, regulation, or reported decision. Recovery figures, complaint indices, and market data are cited to their original source or omitted.
- We do not publish average-recovery claims, guarantees, or comparative “beat any offer” language unless the underlying calculation is disclosed on-page and reviewed.
- Vehicle-specific and insurer-specific pages that lack verified evidence are marked review pending and returned
noindexuntil the record is completed. - Content changes are dated on-page. Guides that name a reviewer identify a real person; unreviewed drafts are not attributed.
